One Man's Apacalypse is Another Man's Treasure

We've all heard about the world coming to an abrupt end in 2012, and as we approach the year of finality, the unfounded fear and hysteria is only going to get worse... and Robert Vicino is only going to get richer.
Apparently, this classy entrepreneur is building five-star bomb shelters in twenty locations across the United States in preparation for the end times in 2012. He uses the spike in seismic activity of late as evidence that mankind's guest appearance on Earth is, indeed, coming to a close. He's charging fifty grand for a bunk bed in a room of four, and if his capitalistic benevolence hasn't floored you already, he's allowing pets for free!

Why this whole deal amazes me, I don't know. I guess after all the tea party protesters screaming of the end of democracy and the Birthers afraid of having an Al-Qaeda member as Commander in Chief and Bush era threat level colors, it should come as no suprise that people are freaking out over a bunch of unfounded, controversial claims by radical, imaginative historians. Instead of doing some research to squelch their fears of dying in a flood or massive, global inferno, they would rather drop fifty Gs to buy an underground bunk bed.
This just further proves my theory that people love to be afraid, and hate to be informed. Pessamism is an inherant trait, I guess. We have to learn how to be educated.

it never fails that you place some epithet against capitalism or the tea-party movement when going on some rant. Thats the same illogical reasoning as making statements that the end of the world is coming in 2012. Pushing your leftist agenda in all your blogs is quite exhausting. You want facts? Progressivists like Obama, got us involved in WWI WWII Korea Vietnam Somalia and OIF/OEF. Liberal Democrats supported as messed up agendas as any conservative. This aside, give me 5 positives ( 1 could be quite easy) of a socialist (not Socialist) government? How is governmental control a positive when it obviously is irresponsible within its borders? How is expanding the Fed into HealthCare or for that matter any other private sector area, going to be more succesful than oh lets say, the failing other social works programs that are horribly flawed and immensly corrupt? I will accept legitimate answers not pompous fluff. You will be graded on delivery and validity of content. Double space 12pt times font. 6-8 pages will sufice.

Once again, you play the role of the victim, assuming any use of the "politically charged" words you are so protective of is a direct jab at your political outlook, when in reality, I was simply dogging on the doomsdayer mentality that seems to come around every decade or so. This had nothing to do with you conservatives (or are you a tea partier this week? or maybe a libertarian? constitutionalist?). I made the comparison to the tea party only due to their radical claims of the end of America and freedom and democracy and life as we know it. It doesn't help that they base a lot of their beliefs on religious dogma and bogus claims of raptures and biblical claims, however, my post had nothing to say about that either. If you would have better read my post, you would have made that distinction.
Also, I used "capitalistic" in its most basic sense. You know, the economic and social system in which the means of production are privately controlled? I was pointing out the fact that this dude was making a shit pot of money while while running a private company, yet trying to act like he is doing the American public a solid. Once again, don't be so quick to be offended.
And I don't push my leftist agenda in my blog. I just write what I feel. Apparently it just happens to be too liberal for you. I guess that makes us political opponents, maybe not formidable, though.
So yes, I will be happy to give you 5 positives of the democratic government, however I've already given you 100 over the span of our years of friendship. I will email you my report. However, I find it quite ironic that you would specify that you would grade me on validity of content, when it was your misenterpretation of this post that got you in a hissy to begin with.
Something tells me, valid or not, you'll be quite conservative with your concurrance.

? ? ?

By the way, grading and all that was humor that flew over you. Hence all the nonsense following. I dont expect you to write anything, but you took it too seriously.
